DonateZap is an iPad app that transforms Apple devices into secure donation kiosks for nonprofits. It accepts tap-to-pay donations via credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay with no commission fees beyond payment processing.

DonateZap has no monthly fees, no setup fees, and no subscription costs. The only charges are a 1% platform fee per transaction plus Stripe's payment processing fee (2.2% + $0.30 for registered nonprofits, 2.9% + $0.30 for standard organizations).

How much does it cost?

DonateZap has a simple pricing model: We charge a 1.0% platform fee, plus Stripe's standard processing fees (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction in USD, or 2.2% + 30¢ for nonprofits). Donors have the option to cover all fees, which most choose to do. All fees are clearly displayed during the donation process.

How do payments get processed?

DonateZap uses Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor, to securely handle all transactions. Your organization will need to connect a Stripe account during setup. Donations are processed directly to your Stripe account and then transferred to your bank account on a schedule you choose.

What devices are supported?

DonateZap is currently available for iPad and iPhone (iOS 14 and above). The interface is optimized for both tablet kiosk mode and handheld use by volunteers.

Can I customize the donation screen?

Yes! You can fully brand your donation screen with your organization's logo, color theme, custom donation amounts, descriptions, and personalized thank-you messages.

Is my donors' payment information secure?

Absolutely. DonateZap never stores credit card information on our servers or your device. All payment data is securely encrypted and transmitted directly to Stripe using end-to-end encryption. We maintain PCI DSS compliance and use industry-leading security practices.

How quickly will my organization receive funds?

Funds are available in your Stripe account immediately after donation. Standard Stripe payout timing is 2 business days for US accounts, but this can vary based on your location and account settings. You can adjust your payout schedule in your Stripe dashboard.

What payment methods do you accept?

DonateZap supports all major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, and Google Pay for contactless payments. The app guides donors through their preferred payment method seamlessly.

Can donors get receipts for their donations?

Yes! DonateZap automatically generates and emails digital receipts to donors who provide their email address. Receipts include all the information needed for tax purposes, including your organization's name and the donation amount and date.

2. Platform Services Description

DonateZap Platform Services

DonateZap provides a donation processing platform that enables nonprofit organizations ("Connected Accounts") to accept contactless and card-based donations through iOS devices. Our services include processing payments, managing donation campaigns, generating receipts, and facilitating payouts to Connected Accounts.

3. User Authorization for Payment Processing

Authorization to Act on Your Behalf

By using DonateZap, you expressly authorize DonateZap to act on your behalf to process payments, issue refunds, handle payouts, manage disputes, and perform other payment-related activities for donations made to your organization. This includes creating and managing a Stripe Connected Account on your behalf.

Process donations and payment transactions on your behalf
Issue refunds to donors when requested and approved
Handle payment disputes and chargeback processes
Facilitate payouts to your designated bank account
Access transaction data necessary to provide our services
Update your payment account information when needed

4. Stripe Services Agreement

Stripe Payment Processing

DonateZap uses Stripe to process payments. By using our services, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms.

5. Platform Fees

6. Account Registration and Eligibility

To use DonateZap, you must register an account and provide accurate information. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the nonprofit organization you represent.

7. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

8. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use DonateZap for any unlawful or prohibited purpose. You may not use DonateZap to solicit or collect funds for any activities that violate applicable laws or our policies.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality on DonateZap are owned by DonateZap and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Termination

DonateZap may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including if you breach the Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall DonateZap be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your access to or use of the service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California.

13. Changes to Terms

DonateZap reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any material changes taking effect.
